GSCO Drug Disposal Box

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says they now have a box available where the public can dispose of expired and unused medications.
The Sheriff’s Office has partnered with CVS Pharmacy through a grant program that will allow them to to take medications for disposal at no charge to the public.
The box is located in a non-public area of the building, and the hours for the service is Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM, except on Wednesday when it will be available until 6:00.
Items accepted include:
Prescriptions
Prescription patches
Prescription medications
Prescription ointments
Over-the-counter medications
Vitamins
Samples
Pet medications

Items NOT accepted include:
Thermometers
Hydrogen peroxide
Inhalers
Aerosol cans
Ointments
Lotions
Liquids
Needles (sharps)

Only non-controlled drugs, and schedule II, III, IV, and V controlled substances can be accepted. If you are unsure of your medication schedule category, contact your pharmacist.
