Gibson County Surveyor Loses Lawsuit  E-mail

Gibson County Surveyor Michael Stevenson lost his lawsuit seeking compensation and damages in a salary dispute.

Special Judge David O. Kelley ruled in his brief that Stevenson was not entitled to additional compensation or damages because pursuant to the Indiana Wage Payment Statute Stevenson is not an employee of Gibson County, Indiana and the Defendants (Gibson County Council) are not his employer.  Accordingly, he may not claim damages under the Indiana Wage Payment Statute.

Stevenson had sued the county for compensation and damages contending the Gibson County Council didn't properly adjust his salary when he obtained his license as a surveyor.
