Higher Ed Leads Asking for More Monday  E-mail

The leaders of three of the state's public universities will be back in front of lawmakers today asking for more money.
Indiana's Budget Committee will hold another day of hearings, like the ones that yesterday heard the leaders of Indiana State, Ball State and the University of Southern Indiana say they've made efforts to cut costs and hold down tuition, and they now need the General Assembly to boost funding for their schools.
The committee consisting of 4 lawmakers and the state's budget director are getting ready to write the 2013 budget, and the request for more funding for higher education comes after what's been essential flat spending for colleges in Indiana over the past several years.
