Hostage Situation Ends Without Incident  E-mail

A weekend hostage situation in Mount Carmel ends peacefully.
Police received a call from 407 and a half west 4th street around 10:30 Saturday night from a woman advising that she'd been pushed out of the residence, but one toddler and one infant were still inside - as was 33 year old Christopher Blake Cash.
He reportedly refused to answer the door for police and then barricaded himself in the residence.
Mount Carmel police say Cash refused to let the children leave, forcing them to request assistance from the Illinois State Police SWAT Team and several other agencies.
After 12 hours SWAT team members took the man into custody without incident.
The children were not harmed. Cash will have a hearing pending charged, which may be today.
