An Evansville man arrested in Pike County on charges of theft and providing false information at a wildlife check in station.
Conservation officers say 30 year old Patrick Deweese checked in a deer he claimed to have killed in the Pike State Forest - but it had been taken by another hunter - and was stolen out of the back of his pickup truck.
That hunter had been camping in the same area as Deweese at the time and filed a complaint with conservation officials.
Deweese faces a three year prison sentence and a $10,000 fine.
