Hit and Run Driver Goes to Jail  E-mail

The driver convicted of leaving the scene of an accident after striking a man on a bicycle last spring on US 41 will have to serve jail time.
24 year old Brittany Bauman of Mount Vernon pled guilty to the felony charge that came about after she failed to stop after striking 23 year old Aaron Henry of Princeton. He was northbound on the shoulder of 41 in the Fort Branch area when the incident occurred.
Henry was life-flighted from the scene of the April 25th accident and spent several days in a coma.
Bauman was in Gibson Superior Court Thursday and received a sentence of 20 months in jail, a year old electronically monitored home detention, and the loss of her driver's license for 5 years.
