Fort Branch Shooting Leaves One Dead  E-mail

A Francisco man is in custody and a Fort Branch man is dead following a Wednesday night incident in Indian Hills.
23 year old Austin Blaize is currently being held without bond in the Gibson County Jail. He was arrested at his grandmother's home in Francisco after the incident reported to police around 7 PM Wednesday night.
State Police say Blaize allegedly entered the home of his ex-girlfriend in the Indian Hills area east of Fort Branch and attempted to shoot her current boyfriend in an altercation, but the gun misfired.
Subsequent shots were fired as he left the residence, and one of those struck the 47 year old father of Blaize's ex-girlfriend. The Vanderburgh County Coroner says that victim's name is 47-year-old Terry Monier, and that he passed away at Deaconess Wednesday night.
More information about the charges facing Blaize is expected to be released sometime today.
