Vincennes Exec Legal Battles Continue  E-mail

Vincennes Executive Inn owner Mark Valdes is currently on a 30-day clock to appeal a decision to avoid demolition of the Executive Inn.
Knox Circuit Court judge Sherri Gilmore rejected a request by Valdes for a new hearing because of alleged errors.
The case may now be appealed to the Indiana Court of Appeals, and if that  happens - there will be a further delay the hotel's demolition.
A bid has already been awarded for the demolition.
The City Inspector's office ordered the building's tear-down in late 2010, thus beginning a 2 year court battle, with attorneys for the hotel's owner filing restraining orders to save the hotel-- first in Knox Superior Court One, and later in Knox Circuit Court.  The Knox Circuit Court restraining order is the one currently in place.
