The Gibson County Sheriff's Office says a pedestrian is dead after walking into traffic on US 41 early this morning.
The identity of the male victim hasn't been released, but deputies say he was killed just before 4 AM today (Wednesday) as he attempted to cross 41 just south of Richland Creek Drive, and was struck by a northbound Chrysler driven by Erin Liston of Plainfield.
It's unknown why the victim was walking on the highway, or why he may have darted in front of an oncoming car. Police do say the accident is still under investigation.
