Unemployment in Gibson County is down. Indiana Workforce Development officials released the figures late Friday, and they show that the unemployment rate in Gibson County in February was 7.6 percent - that's down from 8.1 percent a year ago - and from 8.4 percent in January. Gibson County is in the top ten in the state when it comes to the lowest unemployment. In the area only Warrick and Knox Counties are better. Statewide officials say Indiana continues to show strong private sector jobs growth, and over the past year manufacturing job growth in Indiana has more than tripled the national average.
