The Monday start of a murder trial in Gibson County will be delayed. The Clarion reports attorneys for Austin Blaize, the Francisco man facing life without parole plus 80 years if convicted in the trial were in court Wednesday requesting a continuance. That request was granted, as was a request for funding to hire a state-certified investigator. The move meets state requirements for mitigation research prior to any trial that will involve the death penalty or life without parole.
