Train Derailment  E-mail

A  Train Derailment  Friday afternoon in the southwestern portion of Pike County.

Officials with Indiana-Southern Railway said some train cars on a line running through a rural area of southern Pike

County went off the tracks Friday.  There was no word of injuries and no word of any evacuations.  Early reports

to our news partners at "Eyewitness News"  indicated  the contents of the de-railed rail cars posed only a "low"

risk to the environment and "no"  risk  of  health affects  to humans.

Safety crews with Indiana-Southern Railway responded to investigate what caused the derailment.

Up to the minute weather from our partners at Eyewitness News.
